Pro Shop Sale:

We are also happy to announce that the Pro Shop will be having a Spring Clearance Sale Starting April 1st. Selected merchandise will be reduced to make room for this year’s new line of apparel including golf shirts, outerwear, and ladies apparel. As the season approaches the Pro Shop will continue to be stocked with pro line equipment and accessories including Titleist, Callaway, and Antigua.

Early Season Advantage:

For those of us who did not winter in Florida, the first part of the season may be a little frustrating, the quickest way to develop midseason form is to begin your early season practice from the green back to the tee box. Working backwards from the putter to the driver will establish good fundamentals and create a sense of rhythm encouraging better shots with the longer clubs.

The Bunker Renovation Project

The Bunker Renovation project is in full swing here at Honey Run. As you are well aware, we have already added sand to the Greenside Bunkers this past summer. Our next phase in the bunker renovation process is to install internal drainage to the Greenside Bunkers, reshape the bunker edges and add additional sand if needed. Our goal for this winter is to complete the Front 9 Greenside Bunkers by the spring of '09. To this date, we have been able to take advantage of good weather and complete Holes 6 - 9. We will now move to Hole #1 and continue on.

We have also installed internal drainage on the Fairways of Holes #1, #7 and #11. They are growing in nicely and draining much better. All stumps have been ground here at Honey Run. We have eliminated 117 stumps. Our new stump grinder has proven to be a worthy purchase.

New to the '09 season will be an Intermediate Cut (Junior Rough) around the borders of the Green Fringe and Fairways. This 4' step cut will improve the aesthetic look of the Fairways and allow the golfer who just misses the Fairway to play on a tighter 1" cut playing surface instead of the 2" rough immediately outside the Fairway.

We are committed to improving Honey Run Golf & Country Club on a daily basis. You can help us improve Honey Run too by keeping your carts on the cart path at all green and tee locations and fixing your ball marks even during these winter months. With your help and cooperation we can continue making Honey Run the best public course in the area!
