For those of you who haven’t had the opportunity to stop by. Please do so and check-out  the clubhouse renovations. You will be seeing renovations on the course as well. Please be thoughtful to the workers on the course as we restore Honey Run to its’ former glory.
I’d love to meet you and chat. My door is always open. I’ll be glad to fill you in on the Buzz.

Carol’s Corner

How sweet it is to bee back at Honey Run again! I’m really looking forward to working with all the groups this year. If you’re planning
a get together or special event this is the place to come. We do outing packages available for all groups large and small. We do offer customized packages, especially for small groups. We also offer a great practice area. Want to add a little extra to your package the driving range will fit in perfectly. Once again outings will Bee our Special-Tee. I’ve created a new menu with great choices and the price will fit your budget. When you complete your game you can relax and chow down in the pavilion while you relive the great golf moments with your friends.

Our snack bar will have a variety of tempting items to choose from and if course, those specials as well. We’ll add some homemade treats for good measure.

Last, but not least, Glenda Vaden is back. So please be sure to stop in and say hello to another returning part of our team from the past.

John’s Tip

With Honey Run’s extra length, distance is always an advantage.

Most golfers underutilize their bodies, relying on the arms to swing the club. In actuality you should rely on the core strength and torso to transport the club throughout the swing. One check point to insure this happens:

Make sure the left shoulder is under the chin for a complete back swing. Using the large muscles of your shoulders and back will insure more distance on every tee shot.

 What’s happening on the Course?

One of the most important practices we do is aeration. Players wonder why we “tear up” perfectly good greens just as the season is starting. Aeration is very important in alleviating compaction and thatch management. Aeration helps create soil pore space for root growth, water infiltration and nutrient uptake. Just like the golfer working on his game, this “practice” goes a long way to be successful during those dog days of summer.

To help maintain good putting conditions, golfers have the responsibility to fix their ball marks. A fixed ball mark takes two days to hear. An unfixed ball mark takes two weeks. Please do your part to help us maintain the course by fixing your ball marks.
